Jacob Junior Nayinggul, 25-year-old indigenous ranger and now, with his first ever screen appearance, the lead actor in the Australian movie High Ground. He was in Adelaide for the gala launch of High Ground at the Adelaide Film Festival.

The portrait was taken in a back lane in Adelaide, under the shade of a pepper tree, a black cloth thrown over a fence, using only natural light and a large format film camera from 1950s.

The portrait was a finalist in the National Portrait Gallery London's $27,000 Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize (2021), which hung in their Kensington Gallery, London. From the 5400 entries from around the world, 25 artists were selected as finalists. Tony managed had two portraits picked, his portrait of Jacob along with his portrait of Jack Thompson

The Guardian UK named Jacob in their top ten list of "best images from this year's coveted Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize".

"The Taylor Wessing contest is considered one of the most prestigious photography awards in the world, where the very best contemporary portrait photography is celebrated"

Jacob was also selected as a finalist in the $30,000 Bowness Photography Prize (2021) and the $20,000 Olive Cotton Portrait Prize (2021).
